COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The men's basketball game between Maryland and North Carolina will be played as scheduled at Comcast Center on Wednesday, March 6.
The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. Due to weather conditions, the University of Maryland encourages fans to carefully evaluate travel conditions before driving to campus and to consider other options. While university crews are working around-the-clock shifts to have roads, sidewalks, steps and parking lots cleared, it should be anticipated that large portions of gameday parking lots and sidewalks will be snow-covered.
Additionally, many garage spots will be occupied by on-campus resident students. We expect reserved lots will be plowed and staffed, but not all spaces will be available.
The game is being televised on ESPN and can be heard on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network.
Student Tickets Update: Due to the storm, we anticipate a number of our men's basketball season ticket holders will not be able to make it to tonight's game against North Carolina at 7 p.m. As a result, we would like to invite students to help us fill Comcast Center and create the tremendous atmosphere that Maryland is known for!
We will allow students who do not currently have a ticket for the North Carolina game to show their student ID at Gate E (Near the Terrapin Trail Garage) and gain admission into the game on a space-available basis. Students without a ticket will be admitted to Comcast Center beginning at 6:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, as directed by our game day staff.
We will accommodate as many students as possible while seats remain, however, we cannot guarantee admission at this time. We also ask that students admitted without a ticket be prepared to respectfully relocate to another vacant seat should the rightful ticketholder to your seat show up to the game. All students who already have a ticket for the game will be allowed to enter the student gate beginning at 4:30 p.m. Maryland Athletics encourages those students to be in their seats no later than 5 p.m. to participate in a special pre-game activity we have planned.
A few special reminders for tonight are:
REP YOUR STATE - See if you can get your hands on a Maryland state flag (you must leave the stick/pole at home or it will not be allowed into the building) We need as many of you as possible to bring one to use during our little stunt.
#WHITEOUT - The team will be wearing white and while we don't have a t-shirt giveaway, we ask all students to WEAR WHITE too!
