McCain Tied for Lead at Wolfpack Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. - Andrew McCain of the Maryland men's golf team fired a 2-under 142 (71-71) during the first day of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate and is tied for the lead heading into the tournament's final round.

McCain, a freshman, is tied for the individual lead with J.T. Poston of Western Carolina heading into Saturday's final 18 holes. McCain tees off at 8:36 a.m. Saturday, and live scoring can be followed at

Just four players in the 72-man field are under par: Albin Choi of NC State and Zach Edmonson of East Carolina are 1-under par.

As a team, Maryland is tied for fourth with Western Carolina at 13-over par. East Carolina holds the 36-hole lead with a 1-over 577.

Sean Bosdosh, who is coming off back-to-back victories, sits three strokes behind McCain at 1-over. The junior shot a 3-under 69 on the day's first 18 holes, but shot a 76 in the afternoon.

Freshman Tom Harris is in a tie for 30th at 6-over, while sophomores Ben Warnquist and Jordan Sweet rounded out Maryland's top five.
