Six Terps Earn All-America Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland sophomore attack Jen Adams (Brighton, Australia), the 1999 NCAA Tournament MVP, headlines this year's Brine/IWLCA Division I All-America list. The Australia native who finished her sophomore season as the school's single-season record holder in goals (71) and points (117) is joined on the first team by midfielder Christie Jenkins (Media, Pa.), junior defensive standout Tonia Porras (Shaker Heights, Ohio), and junior goalkeeper Alex Kahoe (Villanova, Pa.)

Junior midfielder Kristin Sommar (North Wales, Pa.) earned second team All-America honors while sophomore attack Quinn Carney (Flemington, N.J.) earned third-team honors.

The five players were instrumental in the Terps' drive for their fifth consecutive national title which they captured on Sunday after defeating Virginia, 16-6.

The Terps finished the year with a 21-0 record, only the third team in school history that a team posted an undefeated record.
