The Maryland volleyball program has announced plans to create a new team suite adjacent to the Terps' home arena, the XFINITY Center Pavilion.

"On behalf of the program, I'd like to thank the administration and donors for helping us take the next step," head coach Steve Aird said. "We are so fortunate that we have an incredible community and university behind us and we will look to make them all proud."

The relocation project will feature an entry way, a team lounge and a locker room area. It will be equipped with the latest technology to help the student-athletes perform at a high level both on the court and in the classroom.

"We have been fortunate to recruit student-athletes who believe in our vision," added Aird. "We are selling out matches, we travel the right way and our gear is elite. This locker room is another aspect to providing our team with the best possible experience, and it will have an incredible impact on the future of our program."

Construction on the new locker room will begin this fall and the team will move in prior to the 2018 season.
