COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Eight former Terrapins opened their WNBA seasons last week around the country.

Head coach Brenda Frese has coached 13 total WNBA draft picks, including eight in the top 10. With Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and Brionna Jones picked Nos. 6 and 8 last month, they are the third duo in program history two Terrapins have been drafted in the top 10, all under Frese. Crystal Langhorne and Laura Harper were drafted sixth and 10th in 2008. Marissa Coleman and Kristi Toliver were selected second and third in 2009.

Maryland and Duke have eight former alums in the WNBA, second only to Connecticut (14).

MARISSA COLEMAN
(Indiana Fever)

Coleman averaged 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game last season in helping the Fever to a 17-17 record. She is now in her ninth season in the league.

Key date: Coleman and the Fever return to D.C. to take on the Mystics on Sunday, June 11 at 3 p.m.

TIANNA HAWKINS
(Washington Mystics)

Now in her fourth season in the WNBA, Hawkins averaged 4.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game last year. 

Key date: Hawkins, Toliver, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and the Mystics will host former Terps Brionna Jones, Lynetta Kizer, Alyssa Thomas and the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday, May 31 at 11:30 a.m.

BRIONNA JONES
(Connecticut Sun)

Jones was drafted No. 8 overall by the Connecticut Sun last month. She led the NCAA in field goal percentage (69.0%) as a senior, while averaging 19.9 points and 10.9 boards per game. 

Key date: Jones, Lynetta Kizer, Alyssa Thomas and the Connecticut Sun will make two trips to D.C. this summer - May 31 and July 28.

LYNETTA KIZER
(Connecticut Sun)

Now in her sixth season in the league, Kizer was traded to the Sun in the off-season from the Indiana Fever. She averaged 9.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game for Indiana last year.

Key date: Kizer, Jones, Alyssa Thomas and the Connecticut Sun will make two trips to D.C. this summer - May 31 and July 28.

CRYSTAL LANGHORNE
(Seattle Storm)

Langhorne started in all 33 games for the Storm last season. She averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds last year. She's now in her 10th season.

Key date: Langhorne and the Storm will play Jones, Kizer, Thomas and the Sun on ESPN2 on June 29 at 8 p.m. ET.

ALYSSA THOMAS
(Connecticut Sun)

Now in her fifth season in the league, Thomas started all 31 games for the Sun last season. She averaged 11.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Key date: Thomas, Kizer, Jones and the Sun will play at Minnesota on ESPN2 on May 23 at 8 p.m. ET.

KRISTI TOLIVER
(Washington Mystics)

Toliver returned to the east coast and joined the Mystics this offseason. Now in her ninth year in the league, she averaged 13.2 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds in helping the Los Angeles Sparks to a WNBA title.

Key date: Toliver, Walker-Kimbrough, Hawkins and the Mystics will play at Dallas on ESPN2 on June 6 at 8 p.m. ET.

SHATORI WALKER-KIMBROUGH
(Washington Mystics)

Walker-Kimbrough was drafted sixth overall by the Mystics in the WNBA Draft last month. She averaged 18.8 points per game last year at Maryland while shooting 45.0 percent. She also had 125 assists on the year.

Key date: Toliver, Walker-Kimbrough, Hawkins and the Mystics will play at Dallas on ESPN2 on June 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
