As a Freshman (2016-17): Had a standout redshirt season, finishing 26-7 in open tournament competition at 125 pounds…26 wins led the team…won 11 matches by way of bonus points…National Collegiate Open Champion (2/26)…Franklin & Marshall Open Champion (1/7)…placed in six tournaments…finished season on 10-match win streak…took third at the Southeast Open, finishing 4-1 in his first collegiate tournament (11/6)… advanced to the final of the Bearcat Open, majoring two opponents while pinning Michael Russo (Brown) in sudden victory in the semifinals (11/13)…won a match at the Wolfpack Open (11/20)…went 5-0 at the F&M Open to win 125-pound title, beating American’s Gage Curry in the final (1/7)…won two matches at the Shorty Hitchcock Open (1/14)…won four straight matches at the Messiah Open to place third (2/4)…won two matches to take second at Warriors Winter Open before medically forfeiting (2/14)…rattled off four wins, including a pin over NC State’s Charles Lenox in the semis to claim National Collegiate Open crown (2/26).
