Stefanie Fee was hired as an assistant coach in the summer of 2016, then moved to director of operations in 2017. She is a member of the U.S. national team roster.
“Stefanie is one of the most competitive and intense defenders and counter attackers I have ever seen play the game," Meharg said. "Every 1-on-1 battle is treated like a final buzzer play. She will lead our defense.”
In her first year in College Park, Fee helped the Terrapins to a record of 18-5 and their third straight Big Ten regular season title. They advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
Fee was a four-year starter at Duke from 2008-2011. She helped the Blue Devils to a pair of NCAA Quarterfinals appearances. She earned NFHCA Second Team All-America honors in 2011 and graduated with her bachelor's degree in psychology in 2012.
Fee has been on the U.S. Senior National Team since 2012, earning 90 caps. She helped Team USA win gold in the 2015 Pan American Games, the 2014 Champions Challenge and the 2013 World League Round 2 Tournament. Fee and Team USA won the bronze medal in the Champions Trophy in London in 2016.
