Shanteisha Pruitt was hired as an athletic trainer for the University of Maryland’s women’s soccer and women’s tennis programs during the 2015-16 competition season. Pruitt came to Maryland after completing a little under four years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Morgan State University. While at Morgan, she worked primarily with both basketball programs, as well as spending time providing coverage for volleyball, football, cheerleading and both tennis programs.
Prior to Morgan, she spent two years at her Alma Mater, Michigan State University as a Resident Intern. While at Michigan State she worked with Men’s Soccer and the Football programs. Her first year with the Men’s Soccer included a trip the sweet sixteen. Her second year with the Spartans, she provided sports medicine services for the football program, where they won the Big Ten Legends Division Championship 2011 and the 2012 Outback Bowl.
Pruitt completed her graduate work at Morehead State University. She covered the Eagle Volleyball team as they captured the Ohio Valley Conference Championship in 2008 and the softball program .Pruitt’s first experience as an athletic trainer came during her internship at the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts 2007-08.
