As a Sophomore (2016): Started 14 games as Maryland’s main Saturday starter…recorded a team-best 2.46 ERA, the fourth-best mark in the Big Ten, in 102.1 innings pitched…struck out 60 to just nine walks…had a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 6.67, the 15th best in the country and best in the Big Ten…ranked second in the country in walks per nine innings (0.79)…notched five complete games, the eighth best mark in the country and tops in the Big Ten…tossed five innings and struck out five to earn a win at Alabama (2/20)…struck out nine, did not walk a batter and gave up one earned runs over seven innings against Rhode Island (2/27)…went seven innings, gave up an earned run, allowed four hits and struck out five to earn a win over SE Louisiana (3/5)…notched his first career complete game and struck out five against Bryant (3/12)…gave up one earned run in a complete game win at Cal State Fullerton (3/19)…struck out four over seven innings and did not give up a run at Iowa (3/26)…went five and 2/3 of an inning to earn a win against High Point (4/2)…needed just 90 pitches in a complete game, three-hit shutout against Ohio State (4/8)…stuck out three over five and 2/3 innings at Minnesota (4/15)…tossed an eight inning complete game, but took the loss at Penn State (4/30)…struck out six and gave up one run while scattering six hit in a complete game win over Illinois (5/7)…went seven innings against Rutgers (5/14)…struck out three and did not walk a batter in six and 2/3 innings of work at Michigan State (5/20)…struck out four and gave up two earned runs in 7.1 IP in the Big Ten Tournament against Michigan State (5/27).
As a Freshman (2015): Made 15 appearance with five starts, recording a 2-3 record with a 4.01 ERA, 28 strikeouts and 33.2 IP...made his first career appearance in an inning of relief against Canisius (2/14)…struck out three in two innings of relief against Richmond (3/11)…tossed five innings and gave up seven hits in his first career win against Delaware (4/29)…started the Big Ten Tournament final against Michigan and threw three and 1/3 innings, giving up just one earned run…needed just 58 pitches to go six and 1/3 innings to earn the win in the Los Angeles Regional final against UCLA (6/1)…gave up just one earned run and one hit while striking out two against the Bruins…earned Los Angeles Regional All-Tournament team honors for his efforts.
At Riverdale Baptist: A four-year letterwinner in baseball … helped the Crusaders finish the 2013 season No. 43 in the country … as a senior, posted an 8-1 record with 86 strikeouts and a 0.89 ERA … earned second team All-Atlantic honors from Perfect Game USA … rated one of the top 500 players in the class of 2014 by Perfect Game USA and the ninth-best player in the state of Maryland … named the Prince George’s Gazette Player of the Year in 2014 and 2012 … selected second team Washington Post All-Met as a senior … named a first team Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American prior to the 2013 season … selected to the 2013 and 2014 Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches Preseason All-State team.
