SUGGESTED INBOUND ROUTES

Inbound to College Park
(From Northbound 95 and points South):

1. Take exit 23 from the Beltway (MD 201-Kenilworth Ave south).
2. After approximately .3 miles, follow the signs and make the right exit onto Route 193 West. Follow 193 to campus. Follow event signs.

- OR - 

3. Drive approximately 2.5 miles on Kenilworth Ave. (201 South). Make right onto Paint Branch Parkway and drive approximately 1.7 miles to the intersection of Paint Branch Parkway and Route 1. Cross over Route 1 and enter campus through the main gates. Follow event signs.

Inbound to College Park
(From Montgomery Co. and Northern Virginia):

1. Take exit 28 from the Beltway (New Hampshire Ave). 
2. Proceed south on New Hampshire Ave to Adelphi Rd.
3. Turn LEFT on Adelphi Rd and follow to Route 193.
4. Turn LEFT on Route 193 and follow signs to event.


SUGGESTED OUTBOUND ROUTES

For fans exiting the University through the Campus Main Gate
Lots PP*, 11B, RDG, Paint Branch Visitor's lot:

1. Follow Campus Drive through the Main Gate and proceed straight ACROSS Route 1 onto Paint Branch Drive.
2. Proceed STRAIGHT on Paint Branch Drive for approximately 1.7 miles.
3. Turn LEFT onto Kenilworth Ave.
4. Follow Kenilworth Ave. for approx. 2.5 miles and large signs will easily direct you to Interstate 495/95.
5. Estimated time to Interstate 495/95 - 10 minutes.


For fans exiting from Lot Z/1
To avoid heavy congestion on Route 1 and Route 193 EAST:
1. Proceed STRAIGHT on Valley Drive (located next to Ludwig Field).
2. Make a RIGHT onto Campus Drive.
3. Turn RIGHT onto Adelphi Rd.
4. Follow Adelphi Rd. for approximately 2 miles.
5. Turn RIGHT onto New Hampshire Ave.
6. Follow New Hampshire Ave. for approx. Ľ mile to Interstate 495/95.
7. Estimated time to Interstate 495/95 - 14 minutes

 

For fans exiting via Stadium Drive - Stadium Drive
Garage, 4L, Z/1 to avoid HEAVY congestion on Route 193 EAST:

1. Proceed into the LEFT lane of STADIUM DRIVE to exit campus.
2. Turn LEFT onto Route 193 WEST.
3. Turn RIGHT onto Adelphi Rd.
4. Follow Adelphi Rd. for approximately 2 miles.
5. Turn RIGHT onto New Hampshire Ave., follow for Ľ mile to Interstate 495/95.
6. Estimated time to Interstate 495/95 - 14 mi


Travel By Air

The University of Maryland is served by three major airports--Reagan Washington National (DCA), Baltimore-Washington International (BWI), and Washington Dulles (IAD). Following are suggestions for travel to campus from these airport locations.

 

 

 

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

  • From the Lower Level roadway (outside Concourse A/B or outside the International Terminal), take the BWI Express Bus B-30 (which runs every 40 minutes) to the Greenbelt Metro Station, take the Green Line and get off on the first stop at College Park. Approximate cost is $9.
  • Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $65.00.

Reagan Washington National (DCA)

  • Located in Arlington, Virginia, this airport is located about 15 miles south of College Park. Travel can be slow through downtown Washington, D.C. during rush hours; approximate driving time is 40 minutes.
  • You can take the Metrorail from the airport. Take the Yellow Line (toward Mt. Vernon Square), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and get off at College Park/U of MD station. Follow remaining directions above under Travel by Train.
  • Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $40.00.

Washington Dulles International (IAD)

  • Located near Herndon, Virginia, this airport is about 35 miles southwest of College Park. Driving time is approximately one hour.
  • Bus service is available to take you to the West Falls Church Metrorail station where you will take the Orange Line (toward New Carrollton), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and get off at College Park/U of MD station. Follow remaining directions above under Travel by Train.
  • Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $55.00.

Travel By Amtrak

Amtrak services the Washington Metropolitan area. Call +1 (877) 632-3788 for automated information on schedules and rates. The closest station to the university is New Carrollton. You may take a taxi (cost about $15.00). If you arrive at Union Station in Washington D.C., you may take the Metrorail to College Park.
