The University of Maryland has earned an institutional Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 85 percent in figures released today by the National Collegiate Athletics Association. It marks the sixth time in the eleven-year history of the metric that Maryland has been above 80 percent.
After completing the first day of the fall 2015 semester, the University of Maryland Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted a Welcome Back Barbeque for all student-athletes Monday.
The Big Ten Conference announced on Wednesday that 23 Maryland students competing in intercollegiate athletics have earned the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award. The list includes students from men's basketball, field hockey, football, women's gymnastics, men's and women's lacrosse, women's soccer, softball, women's tennis, track & field, volleyball and wrestling programs who have recorded a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher for the previous academic year.
