Swope Named Baseball Assistant Coach

University of Maryland baseball head coach Rob Vaughn announced the promotion of Matt Swope to assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Monday morning. Swope, who will serve as Maryland's hitting coach, was the Terps' director of operations for the past five seasons and starred in College Park as a player from 1999-2002.

Rozhansky, Franco Lead USA to Maccabiah Gold

Maryland men's soccer standouts Jake Rozhansky and Aaron Franco led Team U.S.A. to a gold medal at the 2017 Maccabiah Games in Israel Sunday. USA blanked Great Britain, 3-0, in the championship game. Rozhansky scored all three goals, netting a hat trick and racking up Golden Boot honors. The rising senior from Germantown, Md., concluded the tournament with six goals.

Former Terp Layman Shines in NBA Summer League

Jake Layman has good reason to feel tired. Entering his second year with the Portland Trail Blazers, the former four-year letterman and two-time All-Big Ten standout under Mark Turgeon, concluded Las Vegas Summer League team play earlier this week by leading his team to the championship game and a runner-up finish.
