The 12th-ranked Maryland field hockey team (11-5) handled No. 3 Virginia (12-3) for all but the final two minutes for a 5-4 win in Charlottesville Tuesday evening. The Terrapins led 5-1 in the second half, but late goals by the Cavaliers in the final two minutes cut into Maryland's lead.

Williamson Earns Multiple Awards

After scoring three goals against Wisconsin in Maryland's 5-4 win over the Badgers on Friday, junior midfielder Eryk Williamson earned a multitude of awards this week. The Alexandria, Va., native was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and College Soccer News National Player of the Week. Top Drawer Soccer named Williamson to its National Team of the Week.
